Beltane, May Day

Beltane is celebrated as the beginning of summer and the beginning of the seasonal cycle of planting and grazing. It is one of the Greater Sabbats and is about honoring life and beginnings. Wiccans celebrate Beltane as a time to celebrate vitality and the co-creative energies of Nature.

This red candle is embedded with dragon bloodstones and daisy flowers. The scent is a combination of lilac, rose, carnation, green leaves, sandalwood, eucalyptus, mint, cypress, pine, and Tonka bean. Red is the color of fire, strength, love, and courage. Dragon Bloodstone is a healing stone that promotes courage, strength, and vitality in health and in love. The daisy flower is a symbol of a new beginning and also representations of purity.

Handcrafted in Eugene, Oregon, candles have a wooden wick and are offered scented or unscented. Each candle is hand-mixed and hand-poured with love and care, incorporating principles of Wicca, aromatherapy, crystal energy, and color magic. As with all handcrafted products, slight variations in appearance may occur from the candle pictured. Candles are offered without a scent for those of you who have sensitivity.

A simple spell to use with this candle is to start by creating a space that is quiet, comfortable, and safe. Visualize your intention and read the meditation as you light the candle. Stare at the flame and continue to send your intent into the light. You can sit in front of it for as long as you like. When ready, close your candle ritual with words of gratitude and a positive affirmation. Let your candle burn as much as needed, making sure you extinguish it before you leave.

Please remember that while powerful, candle magic and intention do not manifest immediate results. Whatever magical ceremony or ritual you decide to perform is simply the messenger whose purpose is to deliver your goals into the arms of the universe—nothing more. You still have to show the cosmos that you are willing to do the work needed to reach your goal.

Candle symbology

A candle embodies the five elements: earth, water, air, fire, and spirit. The wick is earth and keeps the flame constant. The wax, which transforms from a solid to a liquid and then to gas, emulates water’s transmutation properties. Oxygen, archetypal of air, is crucial for keeping the flame lit. The flame is a direct connection to fire, the element of transformation, and rebirth. The fifth element, spirit, is within us and manifests when our intention is placed into the candle and infuses it with our soul.
