Sekhmet Egyptian Goddess of Destruction and Healing Ritual Candle

Sekhmet is the Egyptian Goddess of Destruction and Healing. She is a healer, bringer of justice, a powerful guardian, and a caster of powerful spells. Sekhmet means The Powerful One and has a strong connection to the sun. She is most often depicted as a woman dressed in red with a lioness's head and a solar disk above her with a serpent surrounding the disk.

This red candle is embedded with obsidian and Black-Eyed Susan petals. The scent is sandalwood, ginger, saffron, and amber. Red is the color of fire, strength, love, and courage. Obsidian provides strong protection and is associated with providing entrance into the inner mysteries of the Goddess. The Black-eyed Susan flower represents justice and encourages light to heal the dark places of the soul.

Candle symbology

A candle embodies the five elements: earth, water, air, fire, and spirit. The wick is earth and keeps the flame constant. The wax, which transforms from a solid to a liquid and then to gas, emulates water’s transmutation properties. Oxygen, archetypal of air, is crucial for keeping the flame lit. The flame is a direct connection to fire, the element of transformation, and rebirth. The fifth element, spirit, is within us and manifests when our intention is placed into the candle and infuses it with our soul.
